No person shall park a vehicle on any public street, highway or alley for more than forty-eight (48) consecutive hours at any time (Ord. 1989-4)
No personal shall, for camping purposes, leave or park a house trailer, motor home or recreational vehicle on any public street, highway, alley or other right of way thereof, nor shall any person park a vehicle upon the street or roadway for the principal purpose of: (2005 Code)
- Displaying such vehicle for sale
- Washing, greasing or repairing such vehicle, except such repairs as are necessitated by an emergency.
- Displaying advertising
- Selling merchandise from such vehicle, except in a duly established marketplace or when so authorized or licensed under the city ordinances.
- Storage, or as junk or dead storage, for more than forty-eight (48) hours.
- Storage of camping trailers, utility trailers or any trailer that is not attached to a motor vehicle (Ord 1984-4; amd. Ord 1989-4; Ord 2019-07,9-16-2019)
Seasonal Parking is prohibited on any city street between the hours of 2 am and 6 am beginning November 1st until March 31st (City Code: 7-2-5 (B) This applies to all weather conditions. All vehicles should refrain from parking on city streets after a snowfall until the streets are cleared.
Outdoor Storage include all equipment and materials for residential uses to be stored within a building or fully screened so as not to be visible from neighboring properties.
Exceptions are:
- Clotheslines (poles and wire)
- Lawn furniture (designed for outdoor use)
- Trash receptacles and recycling bins (may be located in a side or rear yard but must be screened from adjacent properties)
- Firewood (must be stored in a side or rear yard)
- Construction and landscaping materials currently being used on the premises
Recreational Vehicle Parking include motor homes, boats, enclosed trailers, campers and snowmobiles or ATVs on trailers. Up to two recreational vehicles may be stored on residential properties.
Vehicles and trailers may be parked in the driveway, but must be located at least 15 feet from the street and cannot block the public sidewalk. Storage in a side yard between homes must be at least 2 feet from the property line. The storage area must be surfaced with asphalt, concrete, or crushed rock with a border that prevents erosion.
Storage in a rear yard must be at least 5 feet from the rear and side property lines if not on a paved surface.
